Pierre Boulez – Live at the Louvre
Orchestre de Paris
Pierre Boulez
Composer and conductor Pierre Boulez is renowned for his interpretations of twentiethcentury music, and especially the work of Igor Stravinsky. His inspired performance in December 2008 of The Firebird and Fireworks, with the dynamic Orchestre de Paris, proved to be no exception to this rule. Held inside the spectacular Louvre Pyramid before a rapt audience of two thousand people, it was a truly extraordinary musical event. This release also features a presentation of the work with Boulez, in which he discusses the music and genesis of the ballet in depth.
